Let's Learn Blues: Slide Guitar

Free

with Paul Lilley Dave Kerr

Calendar Next available session starts Nov 4, 2025 at 7 pm

Join us for another workshop in the "Let's Learn the Blues" series. The facilitators will give a structured lesson on playing acoustic blues slide guitar. Attendees will be taught how to tune their acoustic guitar to a non-standard tuning, learn 1-4-5 chord shapes in the open G tune, and how to apply the slide to single and multiple notes within a 12-bar blues chord progression.

Thanks to the generosity of Taylor Kia of Findlay, each participant will receive a slide of their own. However, you MUST bring your own acoustic guitar and tuner (digital or app).

This workshop teaches a specific technique (slide guitar) for an ACOUSTIC blues style of music, not how to play guitar. It is best suited for those who have basic knowledge of how to play chords and strum patterns. You do NOT need to be able to read music, nor do you need to be a proficient player. Must be 18+ years old.
